About us

Hi! We’re a Wellington business and we’re passionate about teaching people the machinery of government.

Yes…passionate! We know that our enthusiasm for civics helps engage and educate others.

We’re big fans of digital learning (the new type, not the old-school boring type). We create content that we enjoy. Which can mean breaking some of the eLearning rules, and using humour and fun to make a dry subject into something entertaining and informative.

Our belief is if you’re engaged then you absorb and retain the information. We may just make a political junkie out of you yet!

Dr Ryan Malone

Programme Development

Ryan loves this subject matter - he’s our expert. He would quite happily spend his Friday night reading the Cabinet Manual. Ryan facilitates the courses in all their forms. When he’s not developing content he also manages the company’s research programme. And while the rest of the world loses hours on TikTok, Ryan spends his spare time perusing question time OnDemand. In fact he’s uncertain what TikTok is.

Ryan completed an LLB at the University of Otago. He holds a BA (Politics), a Masters of Law, and a PhD (Law) from Victoria University of Wellington. His doctorate considered the effects of MMP on the constitution and was subsequently published by IPS. Most recently Ryan has worked as a policy advisor at the Law Commission on the major overhaul of New Zealand’s alcohol laws. He then worked for the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet in the Cabinet Office with responsibility for coordinating the National-led government’s legislation programme during the 49th Parliament.

Dominique Nunns

Business Development

Dominique’s current focus is finishing her Bachelor of Business Degree at Massey University. Using her entrepreneurial skills she planted the seed of our need for an enthusiastic intern! Dominique has a passion for broadening her knowledge base, spending weeks researching numerous academic journals all to perfect one sentence. When she’s not torturing her family with interesting facts from her latest assignment, she loves going for long walks exploring the native bush.

Dominique started her education journey in 2014 at Massey University choosing to do a Bachelor of AgriCommerce due to her love of animals and nature. Including years of work experience on a dairy farm. However, after her introductory year, she changed to a Bachelor of Business majoring in Entrepreneurship and Innovation as her interests changed to a more broad sense of business. She is currently finishing her last paper which includes the opportunity to gather real-world experience through a business internship which lead her to pursue an internship with us.
